2025 03 24 Board Meeting Update
๐ฐ CFFF Board Update: March 23, 2025
The Canadian Functional Fitness Federation (CFFF) Board of Directors met on March 23 to align on priorities and finalize key steps ahead of our 2025 season. With Nationals fast approaching and our first qualifier launching this week, the board is working hard behind the scenes to grow the sport across Canada.
Here are the highlights:
๐๏ธโโ๏ธ Nationals & Qualifiers Planning
Nationals 2025 will take place July 19โ20 at the PNE Forum in Vancouver. Weโre targeting up to 10 athletes per division, with additional participation expected through an auxiliary event in Quebec. Weโre still awaiting final numbers from the Quebec board and will adapt the East-West split accordingly.
Our first online qualifier launches this week, and itโs the easiest pathway to earn your spot at Nationals. The workouts are designed to be accessible, judge-friendly, and showcase foundational fitness. If youโre on the fence, sign up! Completing the qualifier puts you in the running โ even if youโre not planning to attend Nationals just yet.
๐ Finalizing the Workouts
The board worked collaboratively to finalize the 6 test categories: Strength, Power, Endurance, Bodyweight, Mixed Modal, and Skill. A special focus was placed on:
Ensuring workouts are easy to judge and film.
Creating proper Minimum Work Requirements to maintain quality at Nationals.
Providing clear scaling for age divisions.
Expect to see full standards, floor plans, and demo materials posted soon via Circle21, including integrated judging resources for Technical Officials.
๐งโโ๏ธ Technical Officials: Level Up
We continue to recruit and train Technical Officials (TOs) across the country, especially in preparation for Nationals and our sanctioned events.
The TO Level 1 course is now free and online.
New in 2025: TO Level 2 Training tailored to specific events and delivered ahead of competition weekends.
Want to host a sanctioned event? Weโll provide free TO training if you use IF3 movement standards.
If youโre a former athlete, coach, or just love functional fitness โ this is your chance to contribute.
